Not every Finnish learner is confident enough to feel comfortable in a class held by a native speaker even if his/her level in the language is from the teacher’s point of view sufficient to manage in the target language. There are many factors that contribute to this but the result can be unrewarding for the student/s and indeed the teacher.
The solution we have adopted is very simple - native speaker teachers who also have a good command of Finnish and Finns or other nationals with excellent language skills. Learners can have a teacher who speaks Finnish when needed or a native speaker and only a native speaker.
The target language can be English, Swedish, Spanish, Russian, German or French.
One of the most important factors is still the teacher - student chemistry.
