Assessment and Testing

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages provides us with the 6 scale framework and the Language Portfolio.

These 6 levels of description are:

We use the Oxford Placement Test which has a grammar section and a listening section 200 points or our own short test 50 points. This together with the Personal interview and the Needs Assessment give a solid basis for placing individuals into the 6 scale framework and setting the targets.

Certified Exams

For English you can choose from the Cambridge suite of exams or the London Chamber of Commerce exams or the IELTS exams. There are equivalent exams for French and other languages. Check the British Council for IELTS and Helsinki University for Cambridge
